Went to Empress Jade @ Mount Faber. Is part of Jewel Box. Been a while since I last went to Jewel Box. It has been revamped and now it looks more sleek and sophisticated.
There is still a nice live band playing at the western dining area. I like the breezy outdoor area and the koi pond. A relaxing feeling indeed.
This time though, I am going to Empress Jade, a floor above the western dining area. My friend has chosen the place for her birthday celebration. The chinese restaurant looks chic.

As it is a short notice appointment, I actually already had dinner at home. Thus I just ordered light bites, Vegetarian Spring roll ($10) and Almond Soup ($6).

When the vegetarian spring roll came, I was quite surprised at the big serving. Double-checked with the waitress that it was for one pax. Wow 8 small spring rolls. Quite worth it! The spring roll is crunchy and yet not oily. Almond soup is quite delicious too.
My friend ordered steamed crabmeat rice ($10) and Silver Cod Fish ($16). The food looked nice and tasted quite good for her. However the serving though for her dishes were too small that left her only half full after the meal.

Overall, like the atmosphere of Jewel Box, just that it is a bit out of the way to reach if you do not have a car. Calling a cab may be necessary.
